Khmelnitsky city district court suspended the case against the President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky for violation of quarantine before receiving the official clarification of the provisions of the Constitution on the inviolability of the head of state. The decision was announced on Friday at a hearing on the case Zelensky judge Andrew Milinkevich.

"to appeal to the Supreme court for a decision on the appeal to the constitutional court of Ukraine for official interpretation of provisions of the Constitution that the President of Ukraine enjoys the right of immunity for the entire period of execution of powers and opportunities in this context, the involvement of the President of Ukraine to administrative responsibility," he said.

Zelensky, along with the head of his office Andrey Ermak and other representatives of the government on June 3 visited the cafe in Khmelnytskyi, which was a violation declared in the country in connection with the pandemic coronavirus quarantine.

The national police of Ukraine made the Protocol on administrative violation against the President and sent it to the court. The police explained that the protocols were made due to the fact that the owner of the cafe where Zelensky and his entourage drank coffee, opened the school and served customers despite the ban. Violation of the quarantine carries a fine of 17 thousand to 34 thousand UAH (from $638 to $1276).

Zelensky had admitted violating the rules of quarantine, and said that he is ready to pay the fine.
