The funeral under the cannonade

As reported by CBS Chicago, the unknown on a black car opened fire on the guests of the funeral ceremony, held in the afternoon in the southern part of the city. But those were ready for such a development and began to shoot back. In the end, the attackers tried to flee the scene but crashed into a nearby parked car, ran out of the car and fled in different directions. One of them already managed to be detained. At the scene was found at least 60 shell casings.

At least six of the wounded are currently in critical condition. Police could not yet say exactly if there are any bystanders who are getting caught in the crossfire. However, according to the channel, “hooked” at least one woman who just went out for a smoke and stood next to the funeral home. The motives of the attackers is not yet known, however, that such an attack could happen at the funeral, the police knew in advance. The fact that the participants of the ceremony were followed to the grave by a man who himself became a victim of an armed attack last week. To prevent possible excesses, the funeral was sent a police car. But to prevent this shooting did not help.

President Donald trump on the eve harshly criticized the authorities of Chicago, the streets of which have recently considerably increased the number of clashes with use of firearms, even comparing it with the situation in Afghanistan. The White house has threatened to deploy security forces Federal agencies to restore order.
