Change the terms set in the road map for the abolition of roaming in the Union state, not planned, despite the slowdown in documenting agreements for COVID-19, confirmed on 27 may BelTA the Ministry of communications and Informatization of Belarus.

As earlier informed “the UNION”, Moscow and Minsk for three years working on the cancellation of roaming in the territory of the Union state. In December last year and was approved by a corresponding road map.

It is primarily explained by the industry Ministry envisages in September 2020 simultaneous entry into force of the agreements reached in the first three stages. The first stage, said experts, involves the establishment of a single international interconnect rates for roaming calls in mutual operators of Belarus and Russia. The second stage is the lowering operators of the two countries inter-operator wholesale tariffs for international roaming services (voice, SMS, data transfer). And the third stage provides for the formation of cell operators Union state subscription of retail tariffs for international roaming services.

As explained by the Agency in the Ministry of communications, the results of the first and second stages are expected to sign 22 agreements between the operators of the two States.

currently, the Ministry reported, the implementation of the first and second stages continues, although it is lagging from the schedule. “A number of agreements of the first phase signed most of the agreements of the second stage in the status of a high degree of coordination, the telecommunication operators of the two countries are in constant remote contact to find solutions to their conclusion”, – stated the expert.

as for the final stage of the road map, it should be completed in August, said the Agency.
