The Westminster Magistrates Court postponed hearing of the extradition case of Russian businessman Oleg Tinkov to the United States to July 13, the Court told TASS on Wednesday.”The requested person is next listed for 13.07.2020 at 10:00 am in court 3,” the source said. This will be a preliminary case hearing only, the interlocutor added.The businessman will have to stay in London all that time without the possibility to leave the city. “The conditions [for bailment — TASS] will continue [being valid],” the court’s spokesperson said.”At the moment because of COVID-19 we are not taking any extradition hearings, they will be adjourned until further dates,” the spokesperson noted, without detailing when the case trial on the merit can take place. “I can’t give any indications. We don’t know,” he added.The businessman’s representative refrained from comments.Tinkov will remain in London for the duration of court hearings initiated by the US Internal Revenue Service, TCS Group (parent company of Tinkoff Bank) said in a statement released on the London Stock Exchange on March 2.The businessman said earlier that an acute form of leukemia had been diagnosed in him.TCS Group said earlier that the US Internal Revenue Service had initiated court hearings into Oleg Tinkov in London. The case concerns resolution of potential tax issues.
