Jack, not yet tired of the endless comparisons with Urgant?
Evgeny Perlin: I attribute this to the fact that people watch the project Urgant, and therefore associate me with him. This is absolutely normal. Many do not even suspect that late night show is an international format. So take it easy.
do you know Ivan?
Evgeny Perlin: No, but when Russia went into quarantine, we had the idea to invite him to participate in the photography program via Skype. After all, if not now, when? I contacted one of the authors, who is familiar with personally. But he said that Ivan is not yet ready to give an interview online.
it is True that you originally wanted to call the show “Evening Perlin”?
Evgeny Perlin: No, of course. Surely someone can think that we will copy the name of the program of the Russian TV channel, which is also one of the most popular?
we had several options for names. “The Makaenka, 9”, in my opinion, the best. This address familiar to me from childhood. On the other hand, today for all who work in the BTRC, and for me in particular, the Makaenka, 9, – in fact, the second home address.
How did the idea of the project?
Evgeny Perlin: In 2017, when there was another television season, our leader Ivan Eismont was offered a program that would not be too unorthodox for the Belarusian TV. Her goal is to show those events that do not fall into the esters of serious programs, but which are being actively discussed by Belarusians in social networks. We are convinced that even serious news can be told creatively and with irony.
For two seasons in the Studio managed to visit a lot of star guests, from Jose Carreras and Joe Lynn Turner to Philip Kirkorov and Fyodor Bondarchuk. Someone struck up a personal friendship?
Evgeny Perlin: Well, to be friends and be friends all the same different things. Most met through “Eurovision”. For example, Phillip Kirkorov with whom we had active exchange of opinions in social networks. He often commented on our musical numbers. Communicate periodically with Lena Temnikova: she was in the Studio with us, and recently went on air via Skype. In the same program with us was online Dmitry Guberniev and Jana Churikova – we go way back, ever since my first “Eurovision”.
Who and how selects guests for your broadcast?
Evgeny Perlin: We start from those events, which are held in Minsk at the moment. Here came, for example, Philip concert. Immediately called to us. Or Alexey Kortnev from “accident”: we find the contacts Manager and welcome. Fedor Bondarchuk, for example, have arrived in Minsk for the presentation of “Invasion”. At the same time looked at “Mayankand, 9”.
What if the actor comes to shoot you down?
Evgeny Perlin: Try to do everything as professionally as possible. Recently there was such case. Invited Nikolay Fomenko and Leonid Yarmolnik. Nicholas was the most tense and uncommunicative, and Leonid, on the contrary, arrived in good spirits. Fomenko knocked out all the questions Yarmolnik, so the installation had to cut almost the entire Fomenko. Aired two minutes with Nicholas and eight – Leonid. Although I honestly warned: Fomenko – human communication is very complex.
Who else of the celebrities can be called a difficult guest?
Evgeny Perlin: the same, for example, told me about Leonid Yakubovich. We really wanted to get it into the program, so I pre-configured all: “Guys, work as professionally as possible, everything should be so that the guest feel comfortable on the court”. And it really worked perfectly! Well, Mr Abramovich, of course, did not disappoint.
How many people write jokes for the show?
Evgeny Perlin: is Clearly less than the Urgant. In General, our bone is six. Humor do three. And games for the guests all come up with together. Sometimes the idea of some kind of activity on the surface, and sometimes, conduct brainstorming sessions to Friday nights. Our chat in telegram channel, by the way, is called “Storm the Makaenka”.
you Know that one of your regular contributors in the past year, only graduated from high school.
Evgeny Perlin: Yes, in the show “Makaenka, 9” Yegor Svirsky came while still a schoolboy. But by that time already had considerable professional experience. For example, managed to assert themselves in standup, played in KVN, has twice participated in the show “Laugh comedian” and lit up in the new season of “Comedy Battle”. In General, a great future awaits the boy. I’m glad he’s with us.
If the joke went viewers get frustrated?
Evgeny Perlin: No, we all have different perceptions of humor. When a joke comes to absolutely everything – this is the aerobatics. But we have no problem to do a Comedy show. We position the “Makaenka, 9” as the entertainment program. Therefore, there are guests, and reports. To broadcast a joke for a joke – this purpose is not pursued.
Some editions don’t you shoot in the Studio and at other venues of Minsk. In “Evening Urgant” such, it seems, never had.
Evgeny Perlin: In our case, everything depends on the occasion. Even at the start of the season, let’s say I was reading the calendar and saw that the world theatre day just falls on the day of filming. Thus was born the idea to remove the issue about the theatre in this temple of the arts. The more we have cool technology. And the BTRC Chairman Ivan Eismont always goes nastrac��: “Guys, if you have an idea, use all the features of the company: light and technique”. Now I want something interesting to do for the “Night of museums”. So, as they say in such cases, watch for announcements.
