Ukraine has sent to the UN Secretary General, antónio Guterres letter of complaint to the issuance of the inhabitants of the Crimea Russian passports. On Tuesday said the Ukrainian Agency "Fast".

According to the Agency, in a letter to the permanent representative of Ukraine to the UN, Sergey Kislitsa accuses Russia of "forced issuance of Russian passports" to residents of the Crimea. In this regard, Ukraine asks the UN Secretary General to respond appropriately to "violation of international law".

In March 2014, after the state coup in Ukraine, the Supreme Council of Crimea and Sevastopol city Council adopted the Declaration of independence. March 16 in the Crimea and Sevastopol held a referendum, the results of which 96,77% of voters of the Republic and 95,6% of voters of Sevastopol voted for reunification with Russia. On 18 March the President of Russia Vladimir Putin signed agreements on acceptance of the Republic Crimea and Sevastopol a part of Russia, which are then approved by the state Duma and the Federation Council. Ukraine refused to recognize the will of Crimean people.
