U.S. Secretary of state Mike Pompeo said that the state Department made the head of Chechnya Ramzan Kadyrov in the black list.

It is noted that “sanctions are imposed because of Kadyrov’s involvement in serious human rights violations in the Chechen Republic”.
In a statement the state Department States that the state Department “condemned the threat of violence from the head of the Russian Chechen Republic Ramzan Kadyrov against two journalists in connection with their coverage of the pandemic COVID-19”.
