Citizens subject to conscription will have to be tested for coronavirus, said Monday the head of the Department of organizational and mobilization work of the General staff of the armed forces of Kazakhstan Saken Zhusupov.

Earlier the President of Kazakhstan Kassym-Jomart Tokayev signed a decree to extend the deadline for the spring draft into the army from June to August amid pandemic coronavirus.

"Local Executive bodies necessary to conduct the PCR testing of citizens subject to call to military service and also meet all sanitary-epidemiological norms in the course of the alert and to gather recruits for medical examination at collection points and sent to the troops. I would like to note that the renewal of the call indicates that the country returned to ordinary life," said Zhusupov on the briefing.

According to him, the decision on the postponement of the next appeal of citizens on military service was adopted in Kazakhstan for the first time and is aimed at ensuring the security of citizens.
