In different cities of Belarus began protests arising from the preliminary results of the presidential election. It is reported by Telegram-channel TUT.by.

In Mahilou riot police disperse people gathered in the city centre. In Brest, the protesters stood in front of the security forces and chanting “militia with the people!”. On the spot detained 10 people.

Detention also started in Vitebsk, the police blocked the Victory square. Earlier it was reported about detention on polling stations in the center of Minsk.

Several hundred people gathered at the Soviet square in Grodno. In place came the fire trucks and riot police, which began to squeeze out of people. About 10 people were detained, people are trying to hide in the Church, reports radio Svaboda.

Earlier supporters of opposition candidate Svetlana Tikhanovski called in case of defeat to go on a General strike, to stop work of enterprises and to demand fair elections. According to the first official results and exit polls, Tikhanovski scored 6.8 per cent of the votes. The incumbent President Alexander Lukashenko 79.7 per cent.
