The French historian, permanent Secretary of the French Academy, hélène carrère d'ances in an interview with Figaro called two parameters for which Russians are different from Western Europeans.

In her opinion, one of these parameters is "sense of history" that the people of Russia developed stronger because of the tragedies of the 20th century.

The second parameter is a keen historian calls "the feeling of death".

"All of Russian literature is talking about it. Orthodox Christianity, which clearly puts the resurrection, there is death, the basis of faith. In Russia death is visible, at least in the manner of burial. The coffin remains open until the last minute, the deceased remains for the last farewell", — said carrère d'ancos.

Europeans, she said, think only about the present. They have also forgotten what death is, which replace the concept of "death". This, in particular, showed the pandemic COVID-19, signed carrère d'ancos.
