According to the German newspaper Handelsblatt, the former head of the bankrupt company Wirecard Ian Marsalek is located to the West of Moscow under the supervision of the Russian special services.

Marsalek held on charges of embezzling 2 billion euros from the German payment operator Wirecard AG. The edition with reference to sources in diplomatic circles said on Sunday that the main figurant of this criminal case, presumably, is located in Moscow, watching him, the GRU officers. Also, the paper indicates that Marsalek allegedly transferred substantial funds in the form of bitcoins from Dubai, where the company has been questionable transactions in Russia.

Informed magazine Der Spiegel reported that Marsalek could be hiding in Belarus, where he arrived on a private plane from Tallinn. Handelsblatt says that the Russian special services, taking into account the difficult political relations with Minsk, decided to leave it on the territory of Belarus too risky, so he was taken to Moscow.
