Infectious disease physicians rarely get sick, if properly prepared for the "red zone", told RIA Novosti chief freelance infectious disease control Department of the President of Russia, head of the center for infectious diseases CDB George Sapronov.

"Infectious disease specialists rarely get sick, because we know the factor of transmission. And if I’m properly dressed, then going into "dirty" or "red zone," I am absolutely not worried. I know I need to do and how" he said, answering the question whether he was not afraid of becoming infected at work.

He also noted that all the recommended measures — the need of self-isolation, adherence to social distance, wearing protective masks — effective and work. This, he said, allowed Russia to gain time and prepare the health system to work in the current environment.

Sapronov also said that because of the lack of physicians, doctors-pulmonologists, now go for retraining doctors in nearly all specialties.
