The head of the Ministry of industry and trade Denis Manturov called the period of the start of deliveries of MS-21 (“bulk plane of the XXI century”). According to him, the first liner can pass to the customer at the end of 2021. The Minister said in an interview with “Vedomosti”.
According to him, the certification of the new aircraft is complicated by the pandemic of coronavirus. Obtaining a Russian certificate is expected in mid-2021, and in 2022 in the mid-th.
“In this case, the first commercial plane able to ship to the operator at the end of 2021,” said Minister of industry and trade.
Previously it was assumed that the manufacturer of the liner Corporation “Irkut” (part of United aircraft Corporation) certifies the MS-21 at the end of 2020. The certificate confirms the possibility of safe use of the model, without it the supply of aircraft to airlines is impossible.
