A new strain of swine flu discovered in China, has a high potential to develop into a pandemic. This was announced in the Federal service, RIA “Novosti”.
“the New H1N1 virus G4 EA has a high potential for pandemic spread among people,” – said a leading expert of the Center for molecular diagnostics CMD TSNII of Epidemiology of Rospotrebnadzor Mikhail Lebedev.
Studies have shown that the virus can be transmitted by airborne droplets and into the cells of the human lung.
According to the specialist, to prevent the spread of the virus need to track its circulation among animals and to examine the employees of the pig farms.
He noted that the virus is very contagious and can cause more severe symptoms than other flu viruses.
“At 10.4% of employees of the pig farms found antibodies to a new strain of the virus. At the same time, people who had no contact with pigs, antibody is not detected,” – said Lebedev.
As reported by “the Rambler”, Chinese scientists have discovered a new strain of swine flu, which has, in their opinion, of pandemic potential. The virus, called H1N1, EA, genetically traced to the H1N1 strain that triggered the outbreak in 2009. The Chinese authorities assured that they will take all necessary measures to prevent the spread of any virus.
