Chiyoumen Sergiy (Romanov) deprived of dignity due to the fact that he ignored all appeals to stop his public activity, said RIA Novosti Deputy head of the Synodal Department of the Moscow Patriarchate on relations of the Church with society and the media Vakhtang Kipshidze.

"the Ecclesiastical court has taken all possible measures in order to encourage chiyoumen Sergius for the fact that he revised his contradictory statements, his public activities, which he believed, and probably continues to consider preaching", — said the Agency interlocutor.

He recalled that the ruling Bishop of the Ekaterinburg diocese has called on Sergius with a greater sense of responsibility towards their activities that are incompatible with the service.

"However, all these appeals were ignored by shehurina Sergius, who continued on the rise to make increasingly outrageous statements, accusing the Russian Orthodox Church, abandoning the remembrance of his Holiness the Patriarch and the ruling Bishop during the service and having made thus a number of canonical crimes for which, according to the canons of the Church, the supposed deprivation of dignity, and that was done by the ecclesiastical court," concluded Kipshidze.

Earlier on 3 July the court of the Yekaterinburg diocese defrocked chiyoumen Sergius. The head of the Synodal Department for Church and society and the media Vladimir Legoyda said that the decision for the entry into force must be approved by the Patriarch.
