Test for the coronavirus can show the result on the third day after infection. The head of Rospotrebnadzor Anna Popova said in an interview with TV channel “Russia 1”.
“If we are talking about the PCR test, it is generally accepted that at least three days. That is, the virus must enter the body, it needs to develop, and only after that the mucous membrane of the nose we can find it. Well, this is the minimum period, generally a little longer,” she said.
As previously reported, diagnosis of a new type of coronavirus in the Russian Federation carried out the traditional method of polymerase chain reaction (PCR). A swab for analysis is taken from the oropharynx or nasopharynx, because in the blood or Calais virus appears in more advanced stages of the disease.
