The first two freight trains pass on the railway part of the Crimean bridge. The movement over the Kerch Strait will open the trains that come to meet each other on June 30 from the mainland and Peninsula.
In the opening ceremony of cargo movement should take part the Minister of transport of the Russian Federation Evgenie Dietrich and the head of the Crimea Sergey Aksenov, reports RIA Novosti.
It is noted that a new kind of communication between Crimea and Kuban should contribute to increase the turnover. The cost of transportation of the main cargoes of grain crops, oil products, building materials, chemical fertilizers, rolled metal may be reduced on average by 30-50%.
Passenger trains began to run on the Crimean bridge in December 2019.
Earlier NEWS.ru reported that between Kerch and Anapa was opened to regular passenger traffic on 7 March 2020. Travel time, a large part of which passes on the Crimean bridge, is two hours, the ticket costs 439 rubles. Train Kerch — Anapa — Kerch runs daily morning and evening. Transportation is carried out on the three-car rail buses RA-2.
