Federal medical-biological Agency (FMBA) of Russia has patented a domestic drug for the treatment of coronavirus infection, is able to prevent or mitigate the cytokine storm. This was reported on Thursday on the Agency’s website.
"In Rospatent noted that "Larrain" purely domestic product. He, like all components, can be fully manufactured in Russia. After completion of clinical trials and drug registration in the Ministry of health Scientific center of biomedical technologies of FMBA of Russia will be able to establish mass production of this drug to the doctors with it, cope with the complications developing in patients with coronavirus infection and lead to lethal outcomes", – stated in the message.
According to the head of the FMBA Veronika Skvortsova, it is about preventing or mitigating so-called cytokine storm.
It is noted that Rospatent has already taken a decision on the grant of a patent, nowadays the registration document.
