The Saint Petersburg TV tower on the night of August 7 will disable the backlight in memory of those killed in Beirut. This was reported by press-service of administration of Petersburg.

"Today, August 6, from 23 hours to 4 a.m. on 7 August will remain unlit television tower on Aptekarskaya embankment in a sign of mourning for those killed in a powerful explosion in the district of the sea port of Beirut, which occurred on Tuesday, August 4", – stated in the message.

Five hours will be de-energized 644 lamp (glowing rings on the tiers of the tower). We will only signal lights.

Also on Thursday in the Petersburg House of nationalities was opened by the temporary memorial dedicated to the memory of those killed in the explosion in Beirut, there is a condolence book. Everyone will be able to record to 8 August inclusive. Subsequently the mourning book with words of support Petersburgers will be officially sent to representatives of the Lebanese Republic.

The Saint Petersburg TV tower built in 1956-1962 years for television and radio broadcasting at the Leningrad and Leningrad oblast, located on Aptekarsky island. The height of the spire of the tower is 125 m, it remains the highest in the city. The second tallest spire Lakhta center (118 m).
