To age 18 for children with disabilities will be recognized two categories of citizens of the Russian Federation.
The corresponding decree of the Cabinet of Ministers of 30 April 2020 № 618 “On amendments to paragraph 17.1 of the Annex to the Rules of recognition of the person with a disability” takes effect today, may 9.
Now, the category “disabled child” under the age of 18 years is established when examination of children:
– from insulin dependent diabetes mellitus;
– with malignant tumor of the eye after the operation to remove the eyeball.
According to the Federal registry of persons with disabilities, as of 1 December 2019 the country had a total of 11.88 million people, including 684,3 thousand children-invalids.
In the structure of diseases of children with disabilities 24.3% of cases are mental disorders and disorders of behavior, 23,2% — diseases of the nervous system, 17,7% — congenital anomalies, deformations and chromosomal abnormalities.
