MOSCOW, may 5 — RIA Novosti. On the fifth of may in Russia began to operate a law banning the sale of alcoholic beverages in small catering facilities located in apartment buildings and adjacent territories.

Speech in the document goes about the establishments with an area less than 20 square meters.

the Regional authorities are granted the right to impose additional restrictions, increasing the minimum possible area of such institutions. They can also completely ban the sale of alcohol in cafes in residential buildings.

the Authors previously noted that it aims to combat so-called “Nalivaiko” — small bars on the first floor, which sell alcohol at night.

One of the reasons for the adoption of the law led to numerous appeals and complaints of citizens who are dissatisfied with the frequent disturbance of public order in the surrounding blocks of flats-territories, courtyards and playgrounds.
