In Egypt a group of archaeologists led by Mohamed ‘ Abd al-Bada, discovered a series of mysterious holes carved into the high altitudes of the Holy rock near the ancient city of Abydos. The study showed that they are the entrances to mysterious camera.

a Brief report about the study appeared on the website of the Ministry of Affairs of antiquities of Egypt. It is reported that a group of archaeologists surveyed the eight area South of Abydos. She had to document the traces of human presence in the sacred valley at different times.

during the work, archaeologists drew attention to the strange holes that are located on a rocky slope of the sacred mountain. They are lined up. Already this led scientists to the idea that the holes are man-made. To get to them and look inside, the scientists had to use climbing equipment.

it turned Out that the holes are in the mysterious chambers carved inside the rock. It is noteworthy that some holes are inputs to only in one camera, while others are in the camera’s “multi-room”. The latter consist of two, three and five cameras.

Scientists suggest. these strange constructions had ancient religious significance. Although it is difficult to say exactly how they were used. The height does not exceed 1.2 meters. They do not have a decorative finish, but some of them were found in small niches and even benches. In the floor in some places was found round depressions.

some of the cells, as shown by the survey, were carved from natural tunnels in the mountain cut through the water. Also was discovered in the wells, similar to mine probably very deep. To explore them yet, as they are littered with stone.

Archaeologists found no evidence of burials within any of the cameras. It is obvious that these structures were not tombs. However, in one of the rooms researchers have discovered a wall inscription. It contains the name of House-n-Choir, Amenity his mother and grandmother Carried Chora.

These names, as well as ceramics, found in cells suggests that this complex probably dates to the reign of the Ptolemaic dynasty (332-30 BCE). The only decoration found by the team, consists of two small, but unusual shapes, carved into the rock with one hand one of the entrances.

the researchers plan to conduct here a full-scale field study.
