– For educators transition to distance mode of education is not only the selection of new technological solutions and change the ways of communicating with students. This is “test of strength” a powerful information flow, – says Olga Veniaminovna. – How to lead the information environment in order? There are a few recommendations, taking into account the “thin” moments of distance education.

.Entry point. The abundance of modern channels of communication and online quickens the learning process, improve information availability for students, which in itself is great. But at the same time all this “load” of the teacher, especially if you use several different programs such as messenger, email, forum, etc. students ‘ Questions are duplicated, it is often difficult to understand who it is that asked young people in the course of uninformative nicknames and avatars. The solution? Group forum or chat. This will reduce workload and improve the effectiveness of feedback. In addition, attraction of resources of integrated educational platforms makes it easier to “know” students and communicate with them in a variety of educational “activity” from teleconferences before the tests.

.Synchronized. Remote form of work seriously changes the synchronous operation of the teacher. Now we have a mediator, most often a means of teleconference. Remote approach to work does not mean the rejection of simultaneous events with the students but involves their transformation: meetings can be recorded for placement in the channel, the presenter can not interrupt, by writing the questions in the chat. Comfortable in front of the online meeting to propose the students to work independently with educational material (for example, to solve a problem or to prepare answers to several questions). Your questions guys can send me in person, if need be, and online are all together we will examine typical errors homework, etc. In my work I use the Microsoft Teams, as such a personal, asynchronous communication channel: the conversation in this program, and special sections in a OneNote notebook Class Notebook, and synchronous chats and teleconferences.

.Work as a team. Now our students, like us all – an acute shortage of communication. It is therefore important to preserve and continue any team practice: for example, project activities that we love, appreciate and use internal training, can be continued remotely. Modern cloud-based educational resources allow us to collectively work with different documents, plan tasks, deadlines. Right now as you read this text, my graduate students to remotely implement a team project to work with the data. Week, teams work independently, the questions are published in a separate command channel, where I post additionaling materials, for example, useful data sets or links to instructions. Once a week meet on a conference call, discussing the interim results, agree on plans next week.

.Play. The elements of games and competitions enliven the learning process and positively affect the motivation of students, no matter what age they are. Of course, the ideal option when you carefully consider the system of achievements and rewards and “bind” the success of the game toward the evaluation of the discipline. Under imperfect conditions, a hasty transition to remote learning to use the tools of gamification, such as personal rewards or connected means of gamification of the educational process, such as Kahoot! Menti or Socrative.

.Security. In a situation of forced distance education most of us were alone with their own equipment and software. Educational environment that we started to use, mostly associated with data transmission over the Internet. Information security issues have become pressing for us end users. Please don’t forget to update your programs, including the operating system itself and device drivers, set passwords and moderated the teleconference.
