Ukraine and Italy came from the Russian space project “Gamma-400”, involving the creation of astrophysical space Observatory to observe gamma-ray sources in the Universe. About it RIA Novosti said researcher of the physics Institute of the RAS Arkady’per.

According to him, Rome refused to participate in the project for administrative reasons. “They had no financial restrictions,” — said the scientist. It was planned that the Italians will do for the Observatory of the device, which measures the angle of arrival of the gamma particles. Now this part of the work is done in Russia.

“With the Ukrainians, we just had to stop work because their scientists as if in polite form, the user is recommended not to take part”, — said the’per. Kiev specialists had to manufacture detectors — clear crystals, through which gamma-particle loses energy so it can be measured. Also in their task was to create instruments that measure the electromagnetic environment.

“the Equipment now has to do the Institute of space research, and our crystals, we expect that in two years, will be the same as previously planned,” — said the expert.

At the same time to take part in the project agreed Belarus. The act of intent to work together
was signed at the level of academies of Sciences. Minsk is ready to make some ground equipment necessary for testing of the Observatory.

the Launch of the Observatory is planned in 2030. Gamma-400 is designed to obtain data to determine the nature of “dark matter” in the Universe, the development of the theory of the origin of high-energy cosmic rays and particle physics, study of cosmic gamma radiation in the range of high energies and x-ray radiation, charged particles of cosmic rays, the search for and study of gamma-ray bursts.
