The next decade in Russia is planned to be devoted to the development of science and its popularization among young people. This was stated by Russian President Vladimir Putin at a joint meeting of the State Council and the Council for Science and Education. The meeting was attended by Moscow Mayor Sergei Sobyanin.

According to him, first of all it is necessary to attract young people to scientific activities. In particular, to assist in the development of popular scientific tourist routes and the creation of scientific volunteering centers, including on the basis of universities.

The Year of Science and Technology helped to attract the attention of Russians to advanced technologies and developments. Lectures of scientists and many-hour marathons of the revived society “Knowledge” were watched by tens of millions of citizens. This year Russian schoolchildren also won all international Olympiads in natural sciences – physics, chemistry, biology, mathematics, computer science.

Recently, the number of universities that conduct scientific activities has almost tripled, the scientific geography of the country has expanded, the research infrastructure has been formed, and advanced developments have begun to improve the daily lives of Russians.

In the next 10 years, at least 25 university campuses with advanced conditions for study and research will appear in the country. For example, a scientific and technological valley is being created at the Lomonosov Moscow State University (MSU), which can become one of the most successful in the world educational space. https://www.mos.ru/mayor/themes/14299/7968050/

The megagrant program will continue, thanks to which strong research teams will be formed in Russia, including attracting compatriots from abroad.

Regions that are strengthening their scientific and technological potential will be supported. Breakthrough developments, the launch of new research, innovative and educational projects will be evaluated.

Scientific innovation teams will be able to quickly test technologies in real life, and then implement them at enterprises, institutions and cities.

In addition, Vladimir Putin instructed the Russian Government to work out solutions for housing certificates for teachers in a short time. They are planned to be awarded to specialists who have achieved concrete results in their professional activities, regardless of their length of service. And scientists working in the difficult conditions of the Far North will be paid the so-called northern allowances from the first month.
