Heat waves occurred in the Yakut city of Verkhoyansk, which is known as one of the North poles of cold. About this informed the head of the Yakut Department of Hydrometeorology and environmental monitoring, Tatiana Marshalik, reports RIA Novosti.

As told by the meteorologist, June 20, the city had recorded a temperature of 38 degrees. She explained that the reason for such hot weather in the sharply continental climate of Yakutia and the anticyclone, which came from the East.

Marshalik reminded that the summer heat in the North of Yakutia is a common phenomenon. However, in most cases it comes only next month — July. The absolute maximum temperature in Verkhoyansk was recorded in 2010, when the air warmed up to 38,3 degrees.

“But soon everything will fall into place. The heat will depart,” said the meteorologist. Already on June 26-27 due to the displacement of the cyclone in the region colder to + 15 degrees, it is also possible precipitation in the form of snow.

Verkhoyansk is located in the Northern city of Yakutia. Along with Oymyakon is one of the cold pole in the Northern hemisphere. The city with the largest difference in maximum and minimum temperatures.
