The Kremlin stressed that any expression of the propaganda of nontraditional sexual relations among minors in Russia is unacceptable.

In 2013 President Vladimir Putin signed a law banning gay propaganda among children. Ordinary Russians it is threatened with the penalty to five thousand roubles, to officials — to 50 thousand, legal entities — up to a million. More severe punishment will follow such propaganda "with the media or the Internet". The Russian leader has repeatedly stated that the rights of the LGBT community in Russia no prejudice
