Mads Pedersen believe that it may prove possible to run the Tour de France in July, but the DM is just a hope.

Mads Pedersen had been looking forward to this Sunday’s big cykelklassiker Paris-Roubaix. The Danish winner of the juniorernes edition of the race in 2013 and the defending world champion in the elite would try to beam on the northern French brostensveje.

But he expects that it will take a considerable time before he once again gets an opportunity to display its rainbow-colored WORLD cup-leotard back.

My hope is that we can run the DM and then the Tour de France afterwards. Now we’ve just got to know that we probably should not count on to run the race again until at least mid-June, says Mads Pedersen.

Switzerland Around, there would have to be run from the 7. June, is the latest victim in the series of major, canceled cykelarrangementer. At the DM is the linjeløb set to hold the 21. June, and a cancellation or transfer-threatening.

Mads Pedersen stresses, therefore, that the holding of the DM most of all is a dream.

– I think the Tour is reasonable and realistic. Perhaps move the race a week or two, starting in July, now that there is space in the calendar, after the OLYMPICS have moved. DM I just hope the much on. It is so important for Danish cycling that is being run to a national championship, says the 24-year-old Danish champion.

Since coronakrisen was the cause for the cancelled race on the strip and thus destroyed his opportunities to show off in the WORLD cup jersey in his favoritløb in the spring, he has kept in shape and tried to get the best out of the increased leisure time.

– It is almost like in the off-season. So it is on the bike in a few hours, and otherwise we are in the process of moving home, and we spend much time on. So mind is a little away from cycling, although it is slightly bitter, when you would like to have run, says Mads Pedersen.

He intends to be back in absolute top condition on a good month’s time.

– Right now is the actual form, of course, better than outside the season, for it’s all about keeping in shape without going into a refund, so you can quickly move it when we get a go, and there will be cycling again.

– I should probably use a three-week time to reach there form, and after four weeks I would like to be able to be close to the top. It is more the mentality that is in winter break. You run not really intervals, and perhaps only four hours with a bit of fun, good pace and little in the forest, says the world champion.

As most of Denmark is also taking his precautions in daily life.

– One is the need to take precautions in the circumstances to isolate themselves. My mother is a nurse, so her we sit not exactly on the thighs of and I keep extra distance to people in general.

– It will be most just to the cloud-cuckoo land with myself and the wife at home.

Mads Pedersen don’t think much on the solution to run the race without spectators, but will generally not use the gunpowder on the kind of theoretical considerations. He is looking to the day when he can run in the field for victories again.
