Citizens of Russia can fly to EU countries via other countries, but they will not be allowed into the EU with a Russian passport, said the Executive Director of the Association of tour operators of Russia (ATOR) Maya Lomidze.

Lomidze told the radio station “Moscow speaking” that now there is some international traffic, it is very limited.

“There is a neighbouring country. Kazakhstan, however, has again closed to the quarantine, but Belarus is open. So there are people who are at your own risk and accept that decision and fly, for example, from Minsk”, – she explained.

Director ATOR said that the Russians are thus unable to fly to Spain, Italy, France and other major EU countries, but they will be there.

“They aren’t open to the “third circle”, including Russia. First, they open to the next, the next, then the next circle – countries in the European Union, and then a third, wide-range, conventionally the rest of the world. To enter with a tourist visa in those countries have not yet declared a state of openness, will not work”, – said Lomidze.

Note that the European Union on 1 July began to open the borders to other countries, but in the list of 14 States Russia. July 8, about the opening of direct air links with Germany, France and Baltic States, announced Georgia.
