MSU Scientists found in amber an extinct species of Telmatophilus beetle. The artifact was found in a piece of the Rovno amber from the floodplain veselukha, Ukraine. The message of scientific discovery published in the journal Invertebrate Zoology.

“This is the first found member of the species was formerly known only living bugs of this kind,” – said senior researcher of the Zoological Museum of Moscow state University, candidate of biological Sciences, lubarsky.

the Obtained data allows to recover the unknown fragment in the picture of evolution of animals and plants in the second half of the Eocene, 39 million years ago.
