Deforestation at the same pace can lead to the fact that after 40 years the probability of survival of mankind on the planet will be reduced to 10%. To such conclusion scientists from Chile and the UK.

The results of the study presented in the journal Scientific Reports. In the course of it the experts examined data on the destruction of forests over the past decade. As it turned out, if the rate of deforestation are not reduced, the forests on Earth will disappear within 100-200 years.

According to scientists, the disappearance of the forest will begin to affect the life of mankind “long before the last tree is cut down”. The collapse will bring an increase in carbon dioxide in the atmosphere and violations of the water cycle — and therefore a violation of resource consumption by the person.
