Svanidze pointed out that “the Great Patriotic war ended on may 9, 1945 capitulation of Nazi Germany”. After “the war continued in Poland and the Czech Republic, and Ukraine, and in Lithuania, and some took years – but they were already outside of the second world war”, reports Ura.ru.
The historian noted that it is difficult to say unequivocally, against which there was a war.

Svanidze noted that the real date of the end of World war II is September 2, 1945.
