Coronavirus infection tends to affect not only the patient’s lungs, but also kidneys, heart and blood vessels, declared in an interview with “Parlamentskaya Gazeta” chief epidemiologist of the Ministry of health of the Russian Federation Nikolay Briko.

According to him, experts were able to make a disappointing conclusion, based on observations of the clinical manifestations of coronavirus infection. Epidemiologist stressed that they are quite diverse, ranging from asymptomatic course of the disease COVID-19 to damage to blood vessels, nervous system, etc.

“Among hospitalized patients, more than 90 percent have pneumonia, DIC-syndrome more than 50 percent, acute kidney injury is about 15% and myocardial damage — more than 20 percent,” said Briko.

Earlier, as reported “the Rambler”, was named the new method of transmission of coronavirus. Dutch researchers found that the virus successfully penetrates into the cells of the intestine and develops inside them. This theory is supported by symptoms of infection – nausea and vomiting. The above allows experts to assert that coronavirus infection can be transmitted not only airborne, but also by “dirty hands.”
