In 2020 the project will cover about 250 schools in more than 20 regions of the country. And next year it is planned to expand. What will be done for each lagging school? Its staff should receive the leaders with extensive experience, Methodists, and highly qualified teachers and mentors. Plus – to work in such schools will also attract students from the teacher training institutions.

Teachers in underperforming schools will actively establish contacts and networking with the best educational institutions within the region. And that’s not all. The project will allow to organize in the region, “creative teaching lab” at school, to improve the skills of teachers, to introduce the project, research and creative work in underperforming schools.

As noted by the Minister of education Sergey Kravtsov, the practice is a recognised tool to help schools around the world. First of all, in countries with very successful education systems.

by the Way, according to the international study PISA, Russia is approximately 32 in the world in functional literacy – that is, in terms of “not only know, but to be able to apply this knowledge”. the name of the project “500+” reflects the challenge of achieving functional literacy in every school, that is the achievement of school level of training of pupils, corresponding to scores above 500 on a scale of PISA – explained in the Ministry of education.
