Two Quebec films have now crossed the $1 million mark in box office receipts, while My Mother’s Men joined Le temps d’unété, which incidentally crossed $2 million at the box office.

“We are having an exceptional summer in cinemas,” Patrick Roy of Immina Films said in a statement. Watching moviegoers flock to the dark rooms is both gratifying and exhilarating, a sign that cinema on the big screen still has an important place! Le temps d’unété thus became the biggest national box office success for a Canadian film in 2023. With total box office receipts of $2,041,895, Louise Archambault’s film starring Patrice Robitaille, Guy Nadon, Élise Guilbault, Martin Dubreuil and Sébastien Ricard is still playing in theaters across the province.

For its part, the film My Mother’s Men collected more than a million dollars at the box office after 15 days in theaters. The feature film directed by Anik Jean and carried by performances by Léane Labrèche-Dor, Marc Messier, Benoît Gouin, Patrick Huard and Colm Feore will also be presented in the Industry Select section of the Toronto International Film Festival.
