Issues of the Syrian conflict should be resolved on the basis of specific facts, the so-called independent Commission on Syria does not meet these criteria, said the Russian foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov.

The report prepared by the Commission of independent experts of the UN, claims that the Syrian government in the period from November 2019 to June 2020 could commit war crimes and crimes against humanity during the liberation of the provinces of Aleppo and Idlib of the insurgents. In the same document, the terrorist group Hayat Tahrir al-sham and other groups are accused of numerous crimes against civilians.

"You probably mean the Commission that calls herself an independent Commission of inquiry on Syria. If so, the Commission was not established consensus decision, the mandate raises many questions, as methods. The decision to establish this Commission was pushed through primarily Western countries that have adopted the policy of regime change in Syria, they do not hide, and by a vote in the UN Council on human rights was formed by a mechanism with a given goal: to look for dirt on the Damascus and on those they call allies of Damascus", – Lavrov told journalists during an online press conference.

As the Minister said, the Commission never traveled to Idlib, and to gather information uses facts from social networks, some of the sources.

"We proceed from the exclusive need to solve and to consider any issues related to the Syrian and any other conflict only on the basis of specific facts based on the presentation of information, for which the relevant structure can answer. The Commission for their statements can not answer, as has been repeatedly proven", – said the head of the foreign Ministry.
