Crimean scientists explored the underground high-temperature lesions in the mountains with plenty of fresh water, reports TASS with reference to the press service of the Sevastopol state University (Sevgi).

“Scientists Sevgi and research Institute of Agriculture of Crimea of the RAS in the two years investigated two underground high temperature of the hearth, located in the Crimean mountains, where the formation pressure of underground waters,” – said in the message.

Scientists have discovered large amounts of fresh water at great depths in the network tectonic fractures that migrate across the Peninsula.

The study was conducted using the developed Sevastopol University of nuclear magnetic resonance “of geotomograf”.

According to the head of the research laboratory Sevgi Nikolai Kovalyov, the uniqueness found underground water flows in that they are formed in natural desalination plants under intensive evaporation comes to them from the sea water.

“Given that the Crimea has a wide network of cross-cutting tectonic faults, possible selection of underground fresh water near the settlements, in need of water supply”, – said Kovalev.

In the Sevgi said that in the Crimea there are areas where high-pressure underground fresh water flow from the lower aquifers into the upper. The detection of such areas will provide an opportunity to drill shallow wells with high flow rate.

As reported by “Rambler” in 2014, Ukraine stopped deliveries to the Crimea, the Dnieper water in the North-Crimean channel, covering up to 90% of country’s needs in the water. The ban largely affected Northern and Eastern areas of the Peninsula.
