The sixth World Championship race in Formula 1 is coming up in Barcelona. On the Circuit de Barcelona-Catalunya, the duel for the lead between world champion Max Verstappen and Ferrari driver Charles Leclerc enters the next round. What are the Germans doing? All information in the live ticker.

Practice, qualifying and the race from May 20th, 2022 to May 22nd, 2022

Location: It is around 30 kilometers from the race track in Montmélo to the metropolis of Barcelona. For a long time the course was just called Circuit de Catalunya. The proximity to the big city on the Mediterranean is now also clear in the name for everyone.

Statistics: With his fifth win in a row, Lewis Hamilton caught up with the previous record winner Michael Schumacher last year. The two stars have won a total of six times in Spain. Grand Prix has been dominated by Mercedes since the reintroduction of turbocharged engines.

2014: Hamilton, 2015: Nico Rosberg, 2017 to 2021 Hamilton. And 2016? That’s when Max Verstappen celebrated his first ever Formula 1 career victory – at the age of just 18 years and 228 days. Now the Dutchman is coming back as world champion for the first time in his Red Bull.

This is how it went last year: Hamilton was unbeatable for the fifth time in a row and prevailed from pole position. Verstappen was second in front of Bottas in the second Silver Arrow. Exactly this result had already existed in 2020. Sebastian Vettel had nothing to do with the outcome of the race.

In 2011, the ex-champion was able to win the only time in Spain so far. In his stubborn Aston Martin, the 34-year-old shouldn’t have a chance of winning in Sunday’s race either.
