Experts of the Centers for control and prevention of diseases (CDC) gave recommendations on how to use antiseptics to protect yourself from COVID-19.

the Use of alcohol-containing disinfectants in 30 seconds reliably inactivates the coronavirus. Specialists conducted a series of tests using the who-recommended antiseptic. They contain at least 80% ethanol or 75% isopropyl alcohol, according to the CDC website.

the product should be applied on the palm, and then smear it over all surfaces of both hands. The gel should be rubbed until dry. The procedure should take at least 30 seconds.

Also, the disinfectant should be distributed on the back of hands, between fingers and under the nails.

The CDC stressed that antisepsis may not be as effective if hands are visibly dirty or greasy. While scientists still call the usual washing hands with water with soap the best way to combat the spread of germs.

Earlier it was reported that sales of disinfectants in Russia from March to June this year increased by 1100% compared to the same period of 2019.
