Former lead singer of the musical group Primal Scream Denise Johnson died at the age of 53 years. It is reported by The Sun with reference to the family members of the singer.

Johnson was found on the morning of 27 July with inhaler in hand. Causes of death not specified.

Primal Scream — Scottish rock group founded by Bobby Gillespie and Jim Beattie in 1982. Denise Johnson sang in the group from 1990 to 1995. Together with his musical band she recorded the album Screamadelica and some of the most famous hits of the group — Higher Than the Sun and Don’t Fight it, Feel it.

on 13 July it was reported that British singer Judy Dybul, former lead singer of the electric folk group Fairport Convention, has died at the age of 71. The singer died after a long illness.
