Shortly before the last matchday in the Premier League, Manchester United’s Ralf Rangnick announced the departure of center forward Edinson Cavani.
Farewell: Manchester United caretaker manager Ralf Rangnick has confirmed Edinson Cavani will leave the Red Devils at the end of the season. The 35-year-old’s contract expires this summer and will not be renewed. The Uruguay international joined Man United from Paris Saint-Germain in 2020.
Injury lay-off: The centre-forward scored 19 goals in 59 games last season. In the current season, however, he has only been used in 14 Premier League games due to several minor injuries, reports “The Athletic”.
Final day: Rangnick said ahead of the final day against Crystal Palace: “It would be good to end the season with a good game and three points and I’m pretty sure the team thinks so too. I suppose they would rather play in the Europa League than the Conference League.”
