Great reception for RB Leipzig: Back home, tens of thousands of fans celebrated the first title in the club’s history after beating SC Freiburg in the DFB Cup final.
Celebrations: 35,000 supporters of Bundesliga club RB Leipzig celebrated the success of the DFB Cup with the team on Sunday afternoon. After each player and the coaching staff had been individually called onto the big stage, the trophy was presented as a newcomer.
Singing: Captain Peter Gulacsi carried the trophy to the supporters in the front row. Then the RB professionals and the fans sang together to the Queen classic “We are the Champions”.
Victory: Coach Domenico Tedesco’s team qualified for the Champions League after the worst first half of the season in the club’s history in the final spurt of the Bundesliga season. RB won their first major title by beating SC Freiburg on penalties at the Berlin Olympic Stadium on Saturday evening.
