a Sedentary lifestyle greatly increases the risk of death from cancer. This factor was identified by scientists from the University of Texas, reports MedicalXpress.

Experts for five years, conducted a study observing the physical activity of more than eight thousand people over the age of 45. At the beginning of the experiment none of them had cancer. From 2009 to 2013, 268 volunteers died of cancer.

Among those people whose activity level was low, the risk of death from cancer was 82% higher compared to participants with the most mobile way of life. Thus, the researchers came to the conclusion that there is a direct link between lack of exercise and death from cancer.

As noted by the study’s lead author Susan Gilchrist (Susan Gilchrist), the longer a person leads a sedentary lifestyle before the cancer, the greater the probability of death.

the Researchers advise people at least 30 minutes a day to devote moderate physical activity. They argue that if, for example, to travel this time on the bike, the risk of death will decrease by 31 percent, while walking eight.

Earlier in June, a resident of the American city of Houston, Texas, said playing sports helped her to recover from the deadly disease. A 54-year-old Tricia Totten (Tricia Totten) in March 2017 was diagnosed with breast cancer. The treatment she underwent 16 sessions of chemotherapy and 33 sessions of radiation therapy and partial breast removal and restoration of breast shape. But despite the deadly disease and the debilitating treatments, American has not abandoned sport. Totten believes that physical activity helped her to defeat the dangerous disease.
