On May 9, 76-year-old Barbara Lange disappeared from her hotel in Phuket, Thailand. A few days earlier she had traveled from Germany with her family. Surveillance cameras showed the elderly woman leaving the hotel, reports the Bangkok Post.

Search teams were sent to search the entire area around the hotel for the pensioner. But initially the search was unsuccessful.

Eventually, a search team discovered the helpless woman in nearby Sirinat National Park. She was immediately taken to a hospital where she received medical attention. According to initial reports, she is in stable condition.

She spent seven days in the jungle with no food or water on her. It is believed that she endured the high temperatures by drinking water from streams.
