A mosque named after the great — grandfather of the head of the republic Ramzan Kadyrov-Abdul-Kadyr will open in the village named after Jamlaila Alikhanov in Chechnya. This was announced by the head of the region, the Grozny-Inform agency reports.

According to him, the opening of the mosque is scheduled for September 5.

“At the request of the residents of the village, the mosque will bear the name of my dear great-grandfather Abdul-Kadyr,” Kadyrov said.

According to the agency, the Abdul-Qadir Mosque will become the 1308th mosque opened in the republic.

Earlier it became known that the largest Islamic scientific and educational center in Russia will appear in Grozny. The building will house a mosque that can simultaneously accommodate up to 15 thousand people, a muftiate, a madrasah (a Muslim educational institution that performs the function of a secondary general education school and a Muslim theological seminary), as well as a large library.
