The Schleswig-Holstein consumer advice center warns against consuming a certain batch of Moët champagne

“Warning danger to life: Again champagne bottles of the brand Moët

Two batches are affected: In addition to batch number “LAJ7QAB6780004”, all bottles of batch “LAK5SAA6490005” are also being recalled.

“The bottles are indistinguishable from the outside. When casting, however, there is a clear difference,” said the consumer advocates. The liquid poisoned with MDMA has a reddish-brown color.

On Facebook, many users commented on the post with smiling smileys. But it’s not fun. “The affected batch is life-threatening. The police are already investigating this criminal case,” writes the consumer advice center.

A case from Weiden in the Upper Palatinate at the beginning of this year shows how dangerous such contaminated champagne is. In March, several men drank champagne poisoned with MDMA in a restaurant there. A 52-year-old from the Schwandorf district died, eight people had to be treated in a clinic with symptoms of poisoning.
