The Ministry of justice will have the right to challenge in court state laws

the Russian Government has submitted to the state Duma a bill giving the justice Ministry the authority to challenge in court state laws if they do not comply with Federal law.

According to first Deputy Chairman of the Duma Committee on state construction and legislation Vyacheslav Lysakova, if the region adopts laws that are contrary to Federal, the Ministry of justice as the relevant Ministry should be able to challenge them.

“This move is absolutely correct, otherwise you will begin legal voluntarism” – said Lysakov, whose words leads to “Interfax”.
