The mayor of Moscow Sergey Sobyanin visited on Friday 2nd separate specialized battalion of the traffic police of the Moi of Russia in Moscow and congratulated the personnel with the Day of the traffic police, presenting awards to outstanding employees.

"I want to Express gratitude to the employees of traffic police of Moscow because of the joint efforts in recent years by 20 percent, lowered accident victims. 40% lower was the death rate on the roads", – said Sobyanin.

According to him, such indicators in Moscow managed to achieve despite the fact that every day on the streets of the city leaves about 3.5 million vehicles. "This is a unique performance. Today we have reached the criteria laid down by the President in the national priorities of traffic safety on the road", – said the mayor.

Located in the village of Rublevo 2nd separate specialized battalion of the traffic police of the Moi of Russia in Moscow as an independent unit was formed in 2004. Today, its staff of 229 employees. The battalion is staffed with 104 cars and 47 motorcycles.

Annually, division staff carried out more than 1,500 variations of organized columns.
