Russia can not afford to take a place among the slave countries in the field of digitalization, because the country needs to become a leader in this area. This was stated by Prime Minister of Russia Mikhail Mishustin, reports TASS.

He noted that today in the framework of digital transformation is scheduled to go on a “higher level of development, to provide the citizens with a new quality of life and increased opportunities.”

The Prime Minister also noted that for these purposes need not be afraid to experiment, and to protect the rights of intellectual property.

“Our task is to successful digital startups and more appeared in Russia, that such was the Russian in its essence and its origin,” he said, adding that the IT industry is now becoming more “Mature and independent”, and there already employs more than half a million professionals.

Mishustin called measures which will contribute, according to the government, development in the field of digitalization. Among them: increase of enrolment in IT programs, the establishment of branch institutes, financial support to specialized companies, including the new tax regime, and others.
