"Some time ago the Russian Orthodox Church was forbidden to father Sergius Romanov to speak publicly. This blessing was due to the fact that many of his public statements have confused the faithful and contained rather contradictory views and positions," said RIA Novosti Deputy head of the Synodal Department of the Moscow Patriarchate on relations of the Church with society and the media Vakhtang Kipshidze.
In his opinion, the decision to restrict the public activities of chiyoumen, leaving him the opportunity to perform divine services, and was "moderate and reasonable".
"However, as we all know, Sergei Romanov was not followed by the blessing and continued his media activity. In this regard, the relevant decision was made banning him from serving", – said the Kipshidze.
He added that the final decision in such cases remains with the diocesan court, which will consider the work of Romanov.
